五峰旗瀑布位於為宜蘭縣礁溪鄉，瀑布後面有五座尖峰並列，就好像是國劇裡武將軍背後的五支三角旗一般，故而得名「五峰旗」。山頂上終年雲霧繚繞，山泉水也不斷自山上直衝而下，形成三疊瀑布，由上而下全長有100公尺，在下層瀑布是風景區的入口處，這裡目前有規劃兒童戲水區及活動烤肉區。在中層瀑布有觀瀑亭，在這裡視野極佳，可眺望翠綠的山巒及欣賞到壁中穿出的瀑布，是蘭陽八景中的「西峰爽氣」。瀑布深居幽谷之中，因此環境分外秀麗山貌靈秀，頗具溪豁之美。每當破曉時分，天空緩緩的泛白、悅耳的鳥鳴回盪在山谷之間，優雅寧靜。

文物特色：
從礁溪五峰旗的山腳下，沿著山麓往上，有一條很古老的道路，那是北宜公路未開通之前，從礁溪通往台北的唯一道路，稱為「路馬古道」。在這條古道沿路有種植柑桔、金棗等等的果樹，風景宜人，讓人走在古早味中。五峰幽谷位在五峰旗風景區旁，此處為清幽勝地，這裡的水質極為甘甜，許多登山好友經常取水下山泡茶。

Historical Background
The Wufongci Falls are one of the eight great scenic spots of the Lan-Yang Plains, belonging to Jiaosi village in Ilan County. The Wufongci Falls are named for the five sharp peaks which stand in a row behind the falls, that look like the five triangular banners that usually hang down the back of the war generals costume in Chinese Opera. Fog and mist drift gracefully around the mountaintop year-long, and torrents of mountain springs continuously flow down its slopes, forming the three layers of cascades that are now the Wufongci Falls. There are three layers to the Falls, and they measure 100 meters from top to bottom. The entrance to the scenic viewpoint is situated near the bottom layer of the Falls, and there is also a barbecue area, and a play area for children to splash in the pools. A viewing pavilion is constructed at the mid-layer of the Falls; there is a vast expanse of vision at this point , and tourists may enjoy viewing the lush mountains, and the cascades shooting out from the precipices. The scene in the eight famous scenic views of Lan-Yang that is poetically named, resh mists draping the western peaks refers to the Wufongci Falls. The Falls are situated in an enclosed valley, which enhances the mystic beauty of the peaks. At dawn, as the sky slowly begins to brighten, musical birdsong can be heard resonating throughout the valley; the unique tranquility in the atmosphere is indescribable.

Cultural Highlights
The Ancient Horse Route: Starting from Jiaosi and going upwards along the foot of the Wufongc peaks, there is an ancient route, called the ncient Horse Route by the locals. Before the Taipei-Ilan Highway was constructed, this route was the only means of reaching Taipei from Jiaosi. Now, orange and kumquat orchards dot both sides of the route, creating lush scenery and a rustic atmosphere.

●客運：
由國道客運台北總站、基隆市搭往宜蘭、羅東、蘇澳的國光客運，至礁溪協天廟下車往大忠路行走約6里處即可抵達。

●By Train:
Take the train to Jiaosi Railway Station, then walk along Wufong Rd. about 3 kilometers to Wufongci Waterfalls (Wufongci Scenic Area).

●By Bus:
Take a Kuo Kuang Bus, and get off at Jiaosi Sietian Temple station, then walk along Wufong Rd. about 3 kilometers to Wufongci Waterfalls (Wufongci Scenic Area).

走北宜公路即可抵達礁溪，沿中正路右轉德陽路走約 2.49 公里，右轉到達目的地五峰旗瀑布。

●台北濱海公路(台2)到五峰旗
自台北濱海公路(台2) 開始行駛右轉至北部濱海公路，直走至梗薪路，左轉至北部濱海公路，右轉至金面路，直走至台9（北宜公路）沿中正路右轉德陽路走約 2.49 公里，右轉到達目的地五峰旗瀑布。

●By Car:
1. Taipei -> Sindian -> Provincial Highway 9 (Taipei - Yilan Highway) -> Provincial Highway 9 -> Jiaosi -> Jungshan Rd. -> turn right to Deyang Rd. -> go 2.49 kilometers -> turn right to Wufongci Waterfalls (Wufongci Scenic Area).
2. Keelung(or Rueifang) -> Provincial Highway 2 (Coastal Highway) ->Toucheng -> Provincial Highway 9 -> Jiaosi -> Jungshan Rd. -> turn right to Deyang Rd. -> go 2.49 kilometers -> turn right to Wufongci Waterfalls (Wufongci Scenic Area).
3. Hualien -> Suhua Highway (No.9 Provincial Highway) -> Suao -> No.9 Provincial Highway -> Jiaosi -> Jungshan Rd. -> turn right to Deyang Rd. -> go 2.49 kilometers -> turn right to Wufongci Waterfalls (Wufongci Scenic Area).
