| 達娜伊谷溪屬於曾文溪上游之集水區，溪中俗稱苦花的「?魚」，數量豐富。過去，經常有外地人前往毒魚、電魚，危及村民飲水的安全，同時破壞了原有溪流的自然生態。後來，在前鄉長高正勝的發起下，村民紛紛將原本屬於各氏族的漁場貢獻出來，組成「溪流保育協會」。
保育計畫從1985年展開一連串的協商和籌畫。1989年正式成立「保育隊」，並組成「河川保護委員會」，由村民自動自發組成河川巡邏隊，防範電魚、毒魚，並加強河川污染防治工作。 經過數年的努力，達娜伊谷溪恢復清澈，魚群清晰可見，溪中自然生態也因此恢復生機。1992年，山美村獲得農委會自然生態保育楷模獎。1994年7月再成立「山美社區發展協會」，希望以社區型態來經營該村的觀光事業，帶動產業發展。1995年1月開放「達娜伊谷溪自然生態公園」。2002年時，山美部落更因達娜伊谷溪保育之成功，獲得總統文化獎。 如今，「達娜伊谷自然生態公園」已然成為阿里山區一處新興的旅遊點。更因為生態保育成功，帶動農業產業發展。山美社區獲得省農林廳的青睞，被選定為「富麗農村」規劃地區。由生態保育活動，進而發展出亮麗的社區整體營造成績，在國內來說，是相當特殊的成功案例。 達娜伊谷溪自然生態公園入園須收門票。有關達娜伊谷溪步道之旅遊詳見(步道之旅──達娜伊谷溪步道)，背景和緣起則見(達娜伊谷溪生態保育緣起和經營之理念)。自然生態公園Tel: 05-2586994。........... 文字來源:阿里山國家風景區 |
| Shanzhimei Restaurant 山之美 (Tel: 05-2513022) is a big operation outside Danayigu Park and caters to the
tour buses, and if busy they won't even seat solo travelers. The house speciality is
bamboo rice 竹筒飯 for NT$50. They claim that their food is
all "aboriginal style" but that's kind of stretching the definition. Inside the park near the gate is the small Meiyun Restaurant 美雲餐廳 (Cell: 0927207380). Many visitors prefer to bring their own goodies and cook at the barbecue grounds 烤肉區. Sightseeing Without a doubt, Danayigu Ecological Park 達娜伊谷 ((Danayigu)) is Shanmei's star attraction. The entrance to the park is 1.5km below Shanmei (at Highway 129 mileage marker 10.7km). The standard weekend admission fee for adults is NT$100, or NT$60 for students (junior high school and below). There is a 20% discount on weekdays. If you drive a car inside, the parking fee is NT$50, for motorcycles it's NT$20. What you get for your entrance fee are well-maintained hiking trails, swimming area, a campground, restaurant, and even aboriginal song and dance shows (on weekends and holidays). The park is open from 8 am to 17:00 (Tel: 05-2586994). Danayigu is at the confluence of two rivers, Tanaiku Creek 塔乃庫溪 and the Zengwen River 曾文溪. The hiking trails follow Tanaiku Creek into a pretty area where small dams have been built across the creekbed to provide pools for huge numbers of trout. Fish food is sold near the entrance to Danayigu, and it's not a bad idea to bring some along. The legal fishing season is from November through April. At an elevation of 400m to 500m, Danayigu is reasonably warm most of the year, and wading into the water is an acceptable pastime. Aboriginal song and dance shows are held in the Traditional Dance Exhibition Plaza 傳統歌舞展演場 close to the entrance gate. ..........authorship :Alishan National Sceareanic Area |
