Visitors to Kenting coming from northern and central Taiwan can fly to Kaohsiung or
Pingtung and take a bus from there. Both these locations are served by many of Taiwan's
domestic carriers. Flights from Taipei to Kaohsiung or Pingtung cost about
NT$1,550~NT$1,990. Trains and buses provide a wide variety of alternatives for transport
to Kaohsiung.

Buses depart from Kaohsiung Railway Station via Kaohsiung International Airport to
Kenting, it runs every 15 minutes until midnight.

Cars can be rented from a variety of car hire companies in most major cities for around
NT$2,000 a day. Car rental services are available at Kaohsiung Airport. An international
driver's license is required and some other form of official identification must be
deposited with the car rental company.
Heading to Kenting from Kaohsiung, drivers can leave the city by the No. 17 Provincial
Route along the coast or via the No. 1 Provincial Route that heads east to Pingtung City
before turning south. Both these roads merge into the No.26 Provincial Route, which leads
down through Hengchun to Kenting proper.
●Connection
There are frequent bus services from Kaohsiung( south Taiwan's
main urban center and the island's second largest city) to Hengchun. Services from
Hengchun to Kenting are less frequent and less dependable. Depending on your plans and the
amount of time you have, Hengchun, and the beachside towns of South Bay and Kenting are
all possible locations from where you can explore Kenting.
An alternative to dependence on the bus service between
Hengchun and Kenting is to rent a motor scooter in Hengchuen-motor scooters are the most
useful means of transport on a trip around Kenting. If you choose to set up your base camp
in Kenting itself, there are also numerous establishments with motor scooters for hire.
The distance between Hengchun and Kenting is about seven kilometers. Alternative means of
transportation around Kenting include bicycles and jeeps, which can be hired through
hotels or from private operators at the various resorts.
